Important update for GO-Global Users

On July 14, 2015, Microsoft released Windows Update KB3070102. When this Windows Update is installed on a GO-Global host running any version of Windows other than Windows XP, the computer will crash on startup.

We have released a Compatibility Update that adds support for the Windows Update to GO-Global versions 4.8 and 5.0.  The x86 and x64 versions of the Compatibility Update are available for download from:

When either of these Compatibility Update installers is run on a computer, it checks the version of the operating system and the version of the GO-Global for Windows host and determines if an update is required. If an update is required, the installer replaces two files, ggse.sys and VBM_Win32k.sys, and then prompts the administrator to restart the computer. 
 
We have also released GO-Global for Windows 5.0 host (version 5.0.0.21965) that supports this Windows Update. This is available for download from GraphOn's web site.

NEW GO-Global version 5 released

GO-Global for Windows makes it easy for authorized employees, business partners, and
customers to securely access legacy applications from anywhere, regardless of connection,
location, client platform, or OS. Incorporating advanced server-centric technology, GO-Global is
an efficient cross-platform solution that cost-effectively Web-enables centralized applications
and documents for rapid delivery to local, remote, and mobile users running Windows, Linux,
OS X, iOS, Android, or any Web browser. GO-Global for Windows enabled applications retain
100% of their features, functions and branding.

The new features included in the 5.0 release:
 Windows Desktop Support. In addition to providing remote access to specific
applications published from a host, GO-Global for Windows 5.0 can optionally provide
users and administrators with remote access to a host’s desktop (start menu, task bar,
etc.).

 Windows Themes. On Windows 7 and later, GO-Global for Windows 5.0 displays
applications using the Theme that is specified on the host so applications appear the
same when run through GO-Global for Windows as when they are run natively.

 High Resolution Display Support. GO-Global for Windows 5.0 supports display scaling so
that text and user interface elements are legible on high resolution displays. When users
connect to a host from a Windows computer, GO-Global for Windows automatically
uses the client computer’s DPI (Dots Per Inch) setting. When users connect to a host
from other operating systems, GO-Global for Windows uses the DPI setting that is
specified for the user under the Control Panel’s Display applet on the host.

 Improved Audio Support. On Windows 7 and later, GO-Global for Windows 5.0 supports
a virtual audio device that creates a private mixer for every session. These components
mix the audio played by applications running in the GO-Global for Windows session and
stream the (.mp4, .wav, etc.) audio data to the client.

 Non-admin Installers for Windows Client and Browser Add-ons. GO-Global for
Windows 5.0 includes new installers for the Windows Client and the Windows GOGlobal
Add-ons that can be run by users who do not have administrator rights.

 Automatic Reconnect. When a user is disconnected from a host, GO-Global for
Windows 5.0 automatically attempts to reconnect to the host. When network
interruptions are brief, users experience only a brief pause in application response.

 Client Log Files. The GO-Global for Windows 5.0 client records connection related
messages in a log file on the client device. After a user signs in to a host, the client files
are automatically synchronized with the host log files to make it easier for
administrators to troubleshoot network issues using both host and client data.

 Connection Monitoring. GO-Global for Windows 5.0 monitors the latency and the input
and output rates of connections to the host. The host tests the initial connection and
records values for each of the metrics in the host log files. The host then monitors the
connection and records quality changes.

GO-Global for Windows Version 4.8.2.21320 is available

This release includes numerous bug fixes, support for Office 2013, support for DirectX applications, and a new Chrome extension.  More details are in the release notes. 

Important note regarding the new Chrome extension.  Google has discontinued support for NPAPI plug-ins.  This required a redesign of the GO-Global Chrome extension. The new extension supports only "loose windows" mode.  Also, the install is now a two-step process; both the new Chrome extension and the GO-Global client must be installed.

GraphOn recommends that all end users upgrade to 4.8.2.21320. 
A version 4.8 license is required

GO-Global for Windows v4.8.1 is released

GO-Global for Windows v4.8.1 is released (GO-Global is a low cost solution to allow you to access your Office or Server based applications anywhere via the Web or your iPad).

Most notably this release supports Server 2012 R2, but also has updates for other host and client platforms.  RELEASE NOTES and README are located online in the documentation section of the Graphon website.

Our target release plan for 2014 will include:
v4.8.2    31 May 2014    Primarily bug fixes.  Will include some enhancements, platform support, and support for Office 2013.

v4.9.0    31 July 2014    Primarily enhancements.  Will include bug fixes and bringing current platform support.

Notes: dates may change; more specific announcements will be made as the year progresses.

GO-Global for Windows v4.6 will End of Life (EOL):
GO-Global for Windows v4.6 is now in Extended Maintenance mode (limited support; Microsoft compatibility updates and security related fixes only), and will EOL on 1 August 2014.  You should plan to upgrade to v4.8.1 as soon as possible.

Announcing GO-Global 4.5, access your office applications via the web

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of GO-Global 4.5 for Windows. This powerful new release incorporates a wide range of new features and functionality, including:

• Integrated Gateway. GO-Global Gateway (previously available as a separate product called GO-Global Cloud Server) is now included as a standard, no-cost feature of GO-Global for Windows. It can easily be deployed in larger enterprise environments to provide a high-availability, secure gateway to multiple GO-Global Hosts.

• Application-based Load Balancing. If a Windows application exists on multiple GO-Global Hosts, GO-Global Gateway will now automatically start the application on the Host with the lightest load.

• Active Directory Support. Allows administrators to easily control access to Windows apps based on user groups.

• User Workspace. Lets users access their applications and files from a central Web-based console with an intuitive, redesigned user interface.
